Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Hubbard, 85, resident of Anamosa for 42 years, died Tuesday at 8 p.m. at her home after suffering a fractured hip Sunday morning in a fall at her home.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Smykil's Funeral home with Rev. J. K. Delahooke, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.

Casketbearers will include six grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harry, Clarence, Arthur and La Vern Eilers, John Hubbard and Morrise Heath.

Daughter of William and Sarah Adams, Mrs. Hubbard was born Oct. 6, 1855, at Worcester, Mass., and grew to womanhood in that town. She was married to W. A. Hubbard in Worcester on Nov. 14, 1875.

As a young couple, they came to Jones county in 1882 and farmed until 1900 when they moved to Anamosa. Mr. Hubbard preceded his wife in death about six years ago.

Mrs. Hubbard has been a member of the Methodist church since she came to Anamosa and was an active church worker until she was forced to give up her activities a few years ago because of age. She also was a member of the Royal Neighbors lodge.

She is survived by four grandchildren: Willie F., Goodland, Kan.; Mrs. Alvin Eilers, Monticello; Miss Grace Hubbard, at home and Ernest Hubbard, Anamosa; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
