April 12, 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

Margaret Spellman, 88, Anamosa, died Tuesday, April 10, at Mercy hospital following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic church. Rev. J. A. McMahon officiated at the services. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery. McNamara Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included William Fay, John McNamara, Milton Chesire, Albert Ament, Victor Knight and Lou Yanda.

She was born in 1874, daughter of James and Margaret Flannery Spellman, Anamosa. She had lived her entire life in the Anamosa area and had taught school for a number of years in the Anamosa public schools before her retirement.
