4 January 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

Charles C. "Curt" Sutton, 60, Anamosa, died unexpectedly following a heart attack Saturday, Dec. 30, at his home in Anamosa.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 10:30 a.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. Walter D. Wigger officiated at the services. Burial was in the Monmouth cemetery, Monmouth.

Masonic services were conducted by Anamosa lodge No. 46 A.F.A.M.

Pallbearers included Price Slate, Anamosa, A. C. Bachelor, William Dunahugh, Clyde Dunlap and Ron Schueler, all of Cedar Rapids; and Roy Plattenberger, Lisbon.

He was born June 3, 1901, son of Ned Sutton and Martha Nichels Sutton, Canton. He was a member of Anamosa No. 46 Masonic lodge, Consistory and El Kahir Shrine. He was employed by Iowa Manufacturing Co., Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; a son, Thomas Sutton, U.S.A.F., Lincoln, Nebr.; a daughter, Bernetta, Mrs. Richard McLaughlin, Cedar Rapids.

Two step-daughters, Dorothy Kula and Delores Kula, Anamosa; one step-son, Donald Kula, Anamosa; one brother, Orville Sutton, Maquoketa; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
