OLIN--Mrs. Nora Landis, 70, died Tuesday morning at Mercy hospital following a major operation last Wednesday. She had been improving until she suffered a heart attack which proved fatal.

Although a time had not been set for funeral rites Tuesday afternoon, the service probably will be held Friday afternoon relatives said, and burial will be in Antioch cemetery. Loder Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Born on Feb. 15, 1871, Mrs. Landis had lived most of her life in Jones county with the exception of a few years spent in Kansas. For the past few years she had been making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Ord, in Olin.

A son, Miles Landis, Fort Knox, Ky., also survives as well as a brother, Joe Byerly, Olin; a sister, Mrs. M. T. Fleming, Maquoketa; a half brother, Clifford Byerly, Fredonia, Kan., and two half sisters, Bessie Byerly, Fredonia, Kan., and Mrs. Mabel Carter, Seattle, Wash. Her husband preceded her in death.
