November 13, 1941 - The Anamosa Journal

Mrs. Gordon Mann, 52, former Anamosan, died Monday afternoon in San Diego, Calif., following a six weeks' illness.

Her illness became critical last week end and her daughter, Miss Ruth Mann, Anamosa, and Mrs. Addison Richman, Dubuque, accompanied by Mr. Richman, left for San Diego by automobile Sunday but did not reach San Diego before Mrs. Mann's death.

Funeral service will be held in San Diego but definite arrangements had not been made Wednesday night, according to Al Hamilton, Onslow, brother of Mrs. Mann, who had been in touch with the Mann family by long distance phone.

Mr. and Mrs. Mann and family had made their home in the Antioch community for 10 years before moving last spring to San Diego where Mr. Mann is employed. Mrs. Mann was born in Onslow.

Besides her husband she is survived by five children: Paul Mann and Doris Mann, both San Diego; Mrs. Addison Richman, Dubuque; Ruth Mann, Anamosa, and George Mann, Baltimore, Md. Three brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Roy Streeper, Amber; Mrs. Clarence Orr, Mrs. Harm Harms and Al Hamilton, all Onslow; Max Hamilton and Ted Hamilton, both living at Monmouth, Iowa.
