STONE CITY--Miss Anna Ronen, former Stone City postmaster, died at her home Saturday morning, Oct. 25, after a short illness. She had been in poor health for the past three years but last week suffered a stroke from which she did not recover.

Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ronen, sr., pioneer Stone City quarry operator, she was born Nov. 24, 1881, and spent her whole life in this community, serving as its postmaster from 1914 to 1931. She was a member of the Degree of Honor, Cedar Rapids lodge No. 4.

Her parents and one brother, Charles, preceded her in death. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: John and Walter, Stone City; William, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Mayme Green and Miss Carrie Ronen, Stone City. Also several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church Monday morning with Rev. H. J. Krieger giving the sermon and Rev. P. J. Behan assisting at the requiem mass. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery, Anamosa.

Casket-bearers were H. F. Dearborn, G. F. Dearborn, Lawrence Shanney, Edward Barnes, Patrick Walsh, and Arthur Lister.
