Funeral services were held for Fern Marie Carrington, 65, of Tacoma, Wash., at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan 7 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery. The Rev. Doug Holmgren officiated at the service. Hayden's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Carrington died in Tacoma on January 2.

She was born in Oxford Junction on January 10, 1914, the daughter of Samuel and Mary Trinka Carrington.

Following her graduation from Oxford Junction High School, she studied to be an X-Ray Technician at the University of Iowa Hospital. She worked in this profession in Tacoma until ill health forced her retirement.

She is survived by many cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother.

Pallbearers were Ray Sobotka, Lyle Willert, Leonard Boos, Otto Koranda, Lester Mowry, and Leland Barnhart. Mrs. Otto Koranda and Herbert Rehmke were vocalists and Mrs. Vernon Steffens was the organist.
