February 28, 1963 - The Anamosa Eureka

Kathryn A. Hanlon, 82, Anamosa, died Monday, Feb. 25, following a brief illness, at Waterloo.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 28, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic church, Anamosa. Rev. J. A. McMahon officiated at the service. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery.

Arrangements were in charge of McNamara Funeral home, Anamosa.

Pallbearers included Milton Chesire, Leonard Wegman, Duane Herren, Alvin Byerly, William McNamara and William Fay.

She was born March 1, 1880, daughter of John Hanlon and Mary Power Hanlon, Anamosa. She had made her home on the family farm, east of Anamosa, before moving to Anamosa six years ago.

She was a graduate of Anamosa high school and had taught school for a number of years. She was a member of Altar and Rosary society, of St. Patrick's Catholic church.

Survivors include one brother, John P. Hanlon, Anamosa; four nieces, Mary Adrienne, Mrs. A. G. Haberkorn; Kathryn Brady, Cedar Rapids; Frances, Mrs. Tom Craven, Cedar Falls and Genevieve, Mrs. Frank Burke, Van Horne.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna, Mrs. Con Brady, and Nelle, Mrs. Louis McDonnell; and one brother, Thomas L. Hanlon.
