Final rites for Mrs. Minnie Maryanne Smith, 74, near Morley, are being held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Center chapel, Morley, in charge of Rev. Sammie Weaver.

Burial will be in Center chapel cemetery. Beam and Miller funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith, who died Monday noon at Mercy hospital after a long illness, was born in Ohio on July 23, 1866. When she was three years of age, she came to Jones county with her parents, Benjamin Robb and Catharine Munsinger Robb, and with the exception of a few years has lived in the county since.

She was married in 1888 to John D. Smith and except for two years when the couple farmed near Ottumwa, Mr. and Mrs. Smith have made their home on a farm near Morley since their marriage.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Smith is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clair Miller and Mrs. Roy Coleman, Anamosa, and Mrs. Ellsworth Tallman, Morley; four sons, Benjamin and James, at home; George, Olin, and John R., Mechanicsville, and a sister, Mrs. Ella Grassfield, Morley.
