Services for Donald Wood, 63, were held on Monday, October 22, 1979 at the Hayden Funeral Home in Olin, Iowa with burial in Olin Cemetery. Rev. Edward Peterson officiated. Pallbearers were Harold Tarbox, Charles Strack, Ralph Wood Jr., Allen Wester, William Moneypenny, Ronald Vacek.

Donald Wood died October 19 at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

He was born at Stanwood, Iowa on July 11, 1916 the son of Frank and Sarah Fulton Wood.

Donald lived most of his life in Olin. He operated a lime truck for several years before going to work in the quarry. On October 27, 1962 he married Belle Hoffman at Maquoketa, Iowa. After many years at the quarry they moved to Lisbon where they operated a café and gas station. They then moved to Stanwood for nine years and have lived at Marquette, Iowa for just over a year.

He is survived by his wife Belle, one daughter, Donna, two sons from a former marriage, Edward, Lisbon, and Kenneth, Brainard, Minnesota, his mother, Mrs. Sarah Moneypenny at the Anamosa Care Center, one sister, Mrs. Leone Peck of Marquette, Iowa, three brothers, Ralph and Frank, Olin; Dale, Stanwood; two half brothers, Floyd, Fennimore, Wis., and Delbert, Warner Robins, Georgia.

Preceding him in death were his father, a former wife, Delores, one brother and one sister.
