12 June 1941 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service was held at the Smykil funeral home Tuesday for George A. Bright, 75, who died at his home six and a half miles east of Anamosa on Sunday. Mr. Bright had been ill for some time.

Rev. J. K. Delahooke, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.

Surviving, besides his wife, there are the five daughters: May O'Brien, Lamont, Laura Smith, Dyersville, Inez Walters, Central City, Ina Haverly, Anamosa and Helen Krogh, Cedar Falls; three sons, Leslie, Monticello, Stanley, Anamosa and William, at home, and 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. John Holmes, Hines, Minn., and Mrs. J. F. Gearhart, Manchester; one brother, Walter, Anoka, Wis.

Mr. Bright was born in Cascade and resided there until six years ago. Since that time he has lived on his farm near Anamosa.
