Funeral services were held here Saturday in Zion United Church of Christ for Gustav Toerber, 85, of Oxford Junction. The Rev. Paul Jordan officiated. Burial was in the Massillon cemetery.

Mr. Toerber died last Wednesday in a Cedar Rapids hospital where he was taken the previous night after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Toerber was born Sept. 11, 1884 in Clarence, the son of John and Katherine Goldsmith Toerber. He married Mathilda Christopherson in 1914. She died in 1940. On Oct. 26, 1948, he married Alma Benischek in Missouri. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his widow; four step-sons, Marvin and Lester Bensichek of Cedar Rapids, Grover Benischek of Olin and Richard Benischek of Monticello; and several step-grandchildren.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
