Last rites for James Franklin Burlingham, 87, who died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed Biggart, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Beam & Miller Funeral home.

Rev. Homer E. Dalrymple, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiated and burial was in Cass cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Wilson, Daniel Rogers, Roy Phyfe, Lester Schofield, John Sanford and Howard Grassfield.

Mr. Burlingham, son of George and Mary Ann Burlingham, was born April 13, 1854 at Solon, N.Y. In 1866 he came to Anamosa with his parents and the family later settled on a farm in Linn county.

He was married in 1876 to Ida May Peck who preceded him in death. Seven children were born to the union, six of whom are still living.

Survivors are one son, Frank Burlingham, Anamosa, and five daughters, Mrs. May Dodd and Mrs. Ed Biggart, Anamosa; Mrs. Eva Craft and Mrs. Nola Wilson, Central City and Mrs. Nora Mills, Prairie City, Ore.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
