Funeral services were held for Orville L. Behne, 62, of Oxford Junction at 10:30 a.mn. on Thursday, Aug. 16, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oxford Junction. Rosary was Wednesday evening at Haydens Funeral Home. The Rev. R. J. Sigwarth officiated at the services. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery where military graveside services were held.

Mr. Behne died Monday, August 13, at the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

He was born March 28, 1917 at Claremont, MN, the son of Louis and Laura Miller Behne.

He attended schools in the Clarmont area. The family moved to a farm near Maquoketa in 1935.

On June 22, 1944, he married Josephine Ruley at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oxford Junction. They lived in Cedar Rapids until 1949 when he purchased the blacksmith shop in Oxford Junction. He operated the shop until 1975 when he retired due to ill health. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Leslie, Oxford Junction; two sons, Kenneth of Eldridge and Wayne of Oxford Junction; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Behne of Crestridge Care Center, Maquoketa; five grandchildren, five brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers were Ronald Behne, Randy Behne, Roger Hamann, Gary Schutt, Brad Ruley and Ronald Picray.
