OLIN--Lester Harrison Gardner, 73, died Friday, July 14, following a heart attack, at the home of his son, Claire, west of Tipton.
Funeral services were held at the Sheets and Dahn Funeral home, Tipton. Gordon Smith was in charge of the services.
Pallbearers included Chalmer Keller, Henry Harden, Donavon Campbell, Carl Frederick, Jake Lamp and Herb Sheets.
Mrs. Leon Stivers was vocalist. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kembel and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Crispin had charge of flowers.
He was born May 10, 1888, son of Charles H. and Phoebe Ballou Gardner, Olin. He was engaged in farming. He had made his residences in the Olin and Tipton communities.
Survivors include a son, Claire Gardner, Tipton; two daughters, Anna, Mrs. Frank Stepanek, West Branch; Neva, Mrs. Orville Emerick, Muscatine; one sister, Emila Crawford, Delmar; two brothers, Hubert, Mount Vernon; and Frank, Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, three brothers, one sister and an infant great granddaughter.
