29 June 1961 - The Anamosa Eureka

OLIN--William Frank Hudachek, of near Olin, died Sunday, June 5 at his home, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 28, at 9 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic church, Anamosa. Rev. J. A. McMahon officiated at the service. Burial was in St. John's cemetery, Lisbon. McNamara Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Carl Rohwedder, Alvin Thumma, Don Rummell, Ralph Milder, Hubert Shankland and Richard Grafft.

He was born Jan. 1, 1882, son of Michael Hudachek and Frances Dvorsky Hudachek, Iowa City. He was married Jan 24, 1906, to Christina A. Vislisel, of Mount Vernon at St. Wencelas church, Cedar Rapids.

He had spent his lifetime in Linn and Jones county. He was engaged in farming. His hobby was threshing. He was one of the few remaining old time threshers, a hobby began when he was 14 years of age. His main threshing runs were in Johnson, Cedar and Jones counties.

Survivors include his wife, Christina A. Hudachek; one daughter, Quitteen M. Davis; three grandchildren, Quintin Martin Davis, Mary Anne Davis and Olin William Davis, all of R.R. 1 Olin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Martin, 1935; four brothers and one sister.
