Earl Betzer, 74, passed away Sunday, June 10, at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa.

Earl was born June 10, 1905 at Winthrop, IA. The son of William and Sarah Simmons Betzer. He attended rural school in the area until 1918 when the family moved to rural Anamosa where his parents farmed, they later moved to Temple Hill in 1936.

On June 9, 1940 at Davenport, IA, Earl married Delberta Sutton. The couple farmed in Jones County until 1958 when they moved to Onslow and later to Wyoming.

Survived by one daughter, Mrs. James (Joyce) Smith of Knoxville, IA. One son Darwin of Wyoming. Five grandchildren, one brother Bill of Monticello, IA. Four sisters, Mrs. Cecil (Viola) Oldridge of Walker, IA, Mrs. Retha Dake of Vinton, IA, Mrs. David (Effie) Haring of Clinton, IA and Mrs. Zelma Schuman of Hopkinton, IA.

Preceded by parents, his wife, one brother and three sisters.

Services were held Tuesday, June 12, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hayden funeral home by Pastor James Mattson. Burial was at the Wyoming cemetery.

Pallbearers: Ben Otten, Willard Larkey, Dolan Bodenhafer, Leland Schuman, Paul Allen, and Cecil Oldridge Jr.
