MARTELLE--Mrs. Clarence (Evelyn E.) Peet, 75, Martelle, died Tuesday, May 23, at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, at 2 p.m., at Cedar Memorial chapel, Cedar Rapids. Dr. George Dunn, Cedar Rapids, and Samuel Weaver will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial cemetery. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Jan. 30, 1886, daughter of Wilson House and Catherine Wrightman House, Merrill, Mich. She was married Sept. 4, 1913, to Clarence B. Peet, Martelle, at Anamosa. Couple farmed south of Martelle on the present home place.

She attended Epworth school, preparatory to teaching. She taught schools in Jones and Cedar counties until her marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence B. Peet; two daughters, Catherine, Mrs. Wilmer Richardson, Central City; and Gloria, Mrs. Burdette Holthaus, Martelle; one son, Robert W. Peet, Martelle.

Other survivors include a brother, Nicholas House, Merrill, Mich.; and a sister, Mrs. Alice Federspiel, Stalwart, Sask., Canada; and ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
