Anna Latare, 80, passed away Thursday, May 31, at the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

Anna was born in Hale Township, Jones County, Iowa, on April 16, 1899 to August and Julianna Brodersen Christophersen. She was raised in rural Clarence and attended the rural and Lutheran schools in Clarence.

On January 21, 1920 at the home of her parents in rural Clarence she married Frederick Latare. The couple farmed southeast of Wyoming until 1944 when they moved to town.

Anna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, past member of the Ladies Aid, past member of Midland Homemakers and past president of Wyoming Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband Fred; two sons, Arnold of West Des Moines, Donald of Columbus, NB; one daughter, Mrs. Everett (Esther) Schroeder of DeWitt; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Dora Fisher of Olin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, two brothers, and one sister.

Services were held Saturday, June 2, 1979, at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Wyoming. Services were performed by Pastor James Mattson and burial was at the Wyoming cemetery.

Pallbearers were Merlin Latare, William Latare, Robert Latare, Douglas Latare, Alfred Christopherson and Alan Rohwedder.
