April 6, 1961 - The Anamosa Eureka

MARION--Mrs. Elmer Kurt, Marion, the former Minnie Murray, Hopkinton, died Saturday, April 1, at 11 p.m., at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 5, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's church, Anamosa. Solemn High mass was celebrated by Rev. Charles J. Murry, S. J., Pueblo Colo., brother of the deceased; deacon of the mass was Rev. Robert J. Ament, St. Joseph's church, Dubuque, nephew of the deceased.

Sub-deacon of the mass was Rev. William Blessington, pastor of St. Joseph's church, Marion. Rev. Blessington also delivered the sermon. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery, Monticello, with Rev. Murray officiating at the graveside rites. Services were in charge of McNamara Funeral home, Anamosa.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer Kurt, Marion; a daughter, Mary Eleanor, Mrs. Michael Cira; and a son, Charles P. Kurt, Clinton.

Besides her brother, Rev. Murray, Marion; two sisters, Mrs. Albert J. Ament, Anamosa; and Sister Marie Charlotte, S.V.M., Visitation convent, Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Murray, Hopkinton; a brother, Louis Murray, Hopkinton; and a sister, Sister Mary Baptista, S.V.M., Visitation convent, Dubuque.
