Lucille Smith, 80 died Sunday March 4, at the Mechanicsville Nursing Home. She was born in Olin, Sept. 28, 1898, the daughter of Clarence and Trillie Simmons Mitchell.

She was raised in Olin, attending the Olin school. On Sept. 3, 1919, she married Ernest Smith at Olin. Couple spent their entire married life in and around Olin. Ernest died in 1970. She was a member of Blayney-Miner Unit, A.L.A.

Survivors are nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, a son, and a granddaughter preceded her in death.

Services were held Wednesday, March 7, at 2:00 p.m., at Hayden Funeral home conducted by Rev. Edward Peterson. Burial was in the Olin Cemetery. Casketbearers were Donald Starry, Melvin Ramsey, Richard Petersen, Clifford Batchelder, Melvin Borcherding and Gordon Freeman.
