Arthur Wilcox, 82, passed away at John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Sunday, March 4, 1979. He was born at Monmouth, Iowa, June 21, 1896, the son of William and Tressa Heinrich Wilcox.

Mr. Wilcox attended Monmouth and Baldwin area country schools. He served in World War I and married Mary Leech February 27, 1936 at Moline. The farmed all their lives in the Scotch Grove Township, retiring in 1967 to Onslow.

He was a 50-year member of the Faternity Lodge 619 AF-AM of Onslow and Wyoming American Legion Post 259, and many community affairs in the Center Junction Area.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Edward Slifer, Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Tabor, Savanna, IL; Gladys Wilcox, Pueblo, CO; Mrs. Pauline Hayden, Durango, CO; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, one sister, and one brother.

Services were held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., at the Onslow Presbyterian Church. Burial at North Madison Pioneer, Center Junction.

Pallbearers were Calvin Reiss, James Lindsey, William Edward Slifer, Duane Wilcox, Harlan Jacobsen and Keith Dirks.
