Services were held for Ernest F. Peck, 84, at 1:30 p.m. at the Olin United Methodist Church on Jan. 27. Peck died Monday, Jan. 22, 1979, at the John McDonald Hospital in Monticello.

The Rev. Edward Petersen officiated. Mrs. Tom Levsen was organist, while Steve Nurre soloed. Pallbearers were Gary Yockey, Joel Peck, Kirk Peck, Glenn Brown, Jay Slater and Norman Ahrendsen.

Burial was in Olin Cemetery.

Peck was born at Olin on Jan. 19, 1895, the son of Laforest Henry and Anna Gable Peck. He received his education in the Olin school.

On June 2, 1917, he married Hattie Jurgensen at Clinton. Until retiring in 1959, he managed grain elevators in Mechanicsville, Cedar Rapids and Olin.

He was a member of the Ancient Landmark Masonic Lodge for 61 years, and was also a member of the Olin United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie, one son, Donald, Des Moines; one daughter, Betty (Mrs. Elmer) Petersen, Wyoming; one sister, Esther Jurgensen, Des Moines; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Hayden's Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Masonic services were held at Hayden's in Olin on Jan. 26.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four brothers and one sister.
