OLIN--Funeral service was held Wednesday at Loder's Funeral home in Anamosa for Joseph Sherman, who died Monday at the home of his son, Willard, near Olin. Rev. W. T. Boston of the Olin United Brethren church was in charge of the service. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.

Casket bearers were Henry Sievers, Clarence Grafft, Rola Houstman, Ray Stivers, John Herken and Harry Jamison.

Mr. Sherman was born the son of Joseph and Clarice Sherman at Tome, N.Y. in 1852. He grew to manhood in Madison township and was married to Eva Pike. Two children, Willard, Olin, and Charles, Savannah, Ill., were born to the couple. After the death of this wife, Mr. Sherman moved to Anamosa, where he engaged in business. He remained in Anamosa until about 30 years ago, when he moved to Olin.

In 1892, Mr. Sherman married Angie Reese. One son, George, was born to them. For the last 20 years, Mr. Sherman has lived with his son, Willard.

Survivors are the three sons, Willard, Charles and George; two brothers, Bert Sherman, Delhi; and Charles Sherman, Anamosa; and several nieces and nephews.
