18 January 1940 - The Anamosa Journal

ONSLOW--William Wasley, age about 50, was killed instantly Saturday afternoon when an automobile driven by Henry Collins upset on highway No. 136, a graveled road, a mile and a quarter north of Onslow.

Accident happened on a straight stretch of road and no other cars were involved. It was snowing heavily at the time and visibility was poor. Car slipped into the ditch and rolled over. Mr. Wasley's neck was broken.

Mr. Collins, who was taken to Mercy hospital in Anamosa, suffered a broken collar bone, numerous cuts and bruises and a possible head injury.

Both Mr. Collins and Mr. Wasley lived in the Temple Hill vicinity north of Onslow. Wasley, who was unmarried, worked on farms in that community.

Coroner L. A. Iverson, Monticello, who investigated the accident, stated that no inquest would be held.
