Services were held Dec. 7 for Pauline Sieveka, 92, who died Monday, Dec. 4, 1978 at the Anamosa Care Center.

Rev. Loren Simpson officiated at the 1:30 p.m. services held at Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming. Mrs. Kenneth Hamann soloed while Mrs. Lafayette Bahnsen played the organ.

Pallbearers were Robert VonSprecken, Carl Sieveka, James Curtin, Raymond Nodurft, Joe Kouba and Donald Krutzfield.

Sieveka was born on a farm near Onslow on May 30, 1886, the daughter of John and Wilhelmina Schmalfeldt VonSprecken. She attended the Onslow and Wyoming area schools. On Feb. 22, 1911, she married Ernest Sieveka at the family home north of Wyoming.

The couple farmed on three farms in the Wyoming area until retiring to Wyoming in 1946. In 1961, the couple celebrated their golden anniversary. Ernest died later that year.

She was a charter member of the rural EverReady Club, a former member of the Industrial Society of the Presbyterian Church and an honorary member of the Hawthorne Club.

Pauline worked at the Brandt Nursing Home in Wyoming for many years and did private care work in Wyoming.

She had been a resident of the Anamosa Care Center since Feb. 8, 1975.

Sieveka is survived by her daughter, Wilma Zamastil, Wyoming; one grandson, Joel Zamastil, Wyoming; and one brother, John VonSprecken, Mechanicsville.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, five sisters and two brothers.
