Frank "Rock" Bedell, 67, former Anamosa resident, died Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Soldiers' home, Marshalltown, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 9:30 a.m., at the McNamara Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. J. A. McMahon officiated. Burial was at Riverside cemetery, Anamosa.

Pallbearers were William Blake, Charles Tyler, Billy Folkerts, Vincent McGreevy, Grover Stroud and Lou Yanda.

He was born May 14, 1893, at Anamosa. He graduated from the Anamosa high school and attended the State University of Iowa, Iowa City, where he was an outstanding athlete.

He was a veteran of World war I, and served overseas with the 305th Ammunition train. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign wars. For many years he worked as a clerk at the Allison hotel, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include two sons, Burt Bedell, Des Moines, and Frank Bedell, Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
