The funeral of Eugene H. Lyon, 52, Davenport, was held at Christ United Methodist Church, Davenport, Sept. 2 at 11:30 a.m. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

Lyon died Thursday evening, Aug. 31, at Mercy Hospital, Davenport.

He was born at Springville on Aug. 10, 1926 to Edgar and Gladys Clark Lyon. On Sept. 12, 1959, he married Phyllis Allison in Maquoketa. The couple lived in Davenport all their married life.

Lyon was an inspector for the Iowa Department of Transportation for the last 25 years. He was a member of Scott County Civil Defense, Davenport Moose Lodge and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; his parents, now of Wyoming; four sisters, Margaret Pegorick and Patricia Zirkelbach, both of Olin, and Elaine Husmann and Doris Tenley, both of Stanwood; two brothers, Robert, Center Junction, and Darwin, Maquoketa; and 28 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
