September 22, 1960 - The Anamosa Eureka

Leigh G. Lint, 49, Anamosa, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 18, at his home.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. J. Ellis Webb officiated. Burial was in the Antioch cemetery.

Military service was held at the cemetery by Arthur McCullough post No. 13 American Legion.

L. H. Ketelsen was squad leader, Lou Yanda carried the Veterans of Foreign wars colors, and Hugo Deininger carried the American Legion colors. George Siebels carried the American flag. Donald Sigmund and Lloyd Aller were color guards.

Members of the firing squad included Neal Dougherty, Al Snyder, Kenneth Rands, Leonard Gerling, Cletus McNamara, Darrel Adams, Donald Brady and David Gray. Alternates were Jack Austin and Buster Davenport.

He was born April 27, 1911, son of Lloyd Lint and Clara Meisel Lint, Collins. He was a graduate of the Anamosa high school. He was married to Lora Smith, Anamosa, on March 1, 1952. Couple had made their home in Anamosa.

He was assistant county engineer at the time of his death and had been employed at the County engineer's office for the last 30 years. He was vice-commander of the American Legion and a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge. He had served as a chief carpenters mate in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1945.

Survivors include his wife, Lora; his mother, Mrs. Albert Lake; his step-father, Albert Lake; and two brothers, Woodrow Lint, Earlville; and Joe Lint, Wichita, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1929 and a brother, Wilbur.
