Francis William Koppes of Maquoketa, former Onslow resident, died May 24, at Jackson County Public Hospital.

Services were held at St. Peter's Church, Temple Hill at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27. Rev. John Kremer officiated, with burial in St. Peters cemetery.

Casket bearers were Myron Martensen, Morgan Martensen, John Koppes, Nick Koppes, Louis Maran, and Richard Faulks.

Francis Koppes was born March 15, 1904 at Temple Hill, son of Micholos and Mary Ann (Duffy) Koppes. He worked at Case Manufacturing in Bettendorf, Iowa for many years before his retirement.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Teddy (Mercedes) Martensen, Cascade, Bertha Koppes, Monticello and three brothers: Ira, Cascade and Vincent and Albert of Onslow.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leo.
