August 4, 1960 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. John A. Binder, an Anamosa resident for the past year, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, after a two-year lingering illness.

Arrangements for burial were made through the Goettsch funeral home. Service for the family was held at the funeral home Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 5:30 p.m., after which the family left for Ralls, Tex., where interment was made.

Martha Lilly Hozerland was born March 19, 1895, in Chicago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Holzerland. Family moved to Loup City, Nebr., and later to Ralls, Tex., where she married John A. Binder Dec. 15, 1919.

Couple made their home on a farm at Ralls and spent their married life in the farming industry until they retired in September, 1959, when they moved to Anamosa. They made their home here with a son, Leon.

Mrs. Binder was an active member of the Shephard King Lutheran church, Lubbock, Tex., for many years, and a member of St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa, at the time of her death.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Leon, Anamosa; Raymond and Lawrence, both of Ralls, Tex.; and one daughter, Ruby Gardner, Amarillo, Tex.; two sisters, Annie Schwaderer, Loup City, Nebr.; and Lilly Hapke, Lubbock, Tex.; and one brother Henry Holzerland, Schyler, Nebr.
