7 July 1960 - The Anamosa Eureka

Frank M. Burlingham, R.F.D. 1, Anamosa, died Friday, July 1, at John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, where he had been a patient for 30 days with a heart condition.

Funeral service was held Monday, July 4, at 11 a.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Monticello. Rev. Gideon I. Krein officiated. Burial was in the Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.

Pallbearers included Wilfred Schatz, Albert Schrader, Louis Tapken, Harold Rockzein, Ernest Benedict and Fred Iben.

He was born June 19, 1885, son of James Burlingham and Ida Peck Burlingham, near Waubeek, Linn county. He was married to Mamie Head, Anamosa, Nov. 10, 1909, at Anamosa. Couple farmed west of Langworthy, Cass township, Jones county. Couple celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary Nov. 10, 1959.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie; two daughters, Zeola, Mrs. Daniel Rogers, Central City, and Bertha, Mrs. LeRoy Page, Monticello.

Other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Mae Dodd, Mrs. Eva Craft, and Fern, Mrs. Harry Benton, Central City; and Ora, Mrs. Herbert Mills, Prairie City, Oreg.; and three grandchildren, Keith and Mary Rogers, Central City; and Brenda Page, Monticello.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mrs. Nola Wilson and Mrs. Amy Schofield.
