Funeral services were held for Francis McAndrew, 87, of Wyoming, on Thursday, March 23 at 10:30 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oxford Junction. Scripture service was Wednesday evening at Hayden's Funeral Home. The Rev. R. J. Sigwarth officiated at the services. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery where the Wyoming Legion Post was in charge of the flag folding ceremony.

Mr. McAndrew died early Tuesday morning, March 21 at the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

He was born on March 13, 1891 at Lost Nation, the son of William and Margaret Carey McAndrew.

On January 2, 1922 he was married to Mary Noring at Lost Nation. They farmed near Lost Nation until 1952 when they moved to a farm south of Wyoming.

During World War I he served with the U.S. Army. He was a charter member of Menzo-Widel Legion Post at Lost Nation and at the time of his death was a member of the Wyoming Legion Post.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oxford Junction.

At one time he served on the Memorial Hall board.

Survivors are his widow of Wyoming; two sons, Francis Paul of Cedar Rapids and William of Maquoketa; two daughters, Mrs. Alred (Mary) Schwager of Bellevue and Mrs. Leland (Jean) Eganhouse of Monmouth; eighteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two brothers, Jerome of Davenport and Charles of Milwaukee.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, one brother and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Dennis McAndrew, John McAndrew, William McAndrew, Douglas Schwager, Eric Eganhouse and Jonathon Eganhouse.
