Funeral services were held for Joseph Kotilinek, 90, of Oxford Junction Monday, February 13 at Hayden's Funeral Home. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery. The Rev. Loren Simpson officiated at the services.

Mr. Kotilinek died Saturday morning, February 11 at the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

He was born June 29, 1887 in Oxford Junction, the son of James and Anna Hronik Kotilinek. In 1916 he was married to Helen McNichols; she preceded him in death in 1973.

He lived all of his life in Oxford Junction and the rural area. He farmed until moving to town, when he was the Oxford Junction street commissionor. He was a custodian at the Oxford Junction school when he retired.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. T. J. (Eileen) Birdsall of Schaumburg, Illinois; two grandsons, Paul Birdsall of Oxford Junction and Dennis Birdsall of Reading, Pennsylvania; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Rose Vacek of Oxford Junction.

In addition to his wife and parents, preceding him in death were two sons, one grandson, three brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers were Louis Vacek, Albert Vacek, Mike Vacek, Michael Vacek, Allen Hronik and Steve Hansen.
