OXFORD JUNCTION--Anton Vacek, 78, Oxford Junction, died about 10:20 p.m., on Saturday, April 30, at his home in Oxford Junction after an illness of about three months.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, May 3, at 1:30 p.m., at the Hayden Funeral home, Oxford Junction, with Dr. E. A. Piper, of the English Lutheran church officiating. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Music for the funeral was furnished by Sharon McCreight and Jean Koranda, accompanied by Mrs. L. M. Hayden at the organ.

Pallbearers were members of the Z.C.B.J. lodge, Anton Vanicek, Frank Tye, John Burda, Otto Benhart, Ed Zak and Otto Koranda.

Anton Vacek was born in Czechoslovakia, Jan. 2, 1882, the son of Frank and Anny Vackovyck Vacek. He came to the United States in 1902. On Feb. 29, 1908, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Soukup, Chicago, Ill., at Oxford Junction.

They farmed near Wyoming most of their married life, retiring to their present home in Oxford Junction in 1942. He was a member of the Z.C.B.J. Bohemian lodge.

He is survived by his widow; three sons, Frank Vacek, Wyoming; Charles Vacek, Hale; and George William Vacek, Oxford Junction; one daughter, Mrs. Max (Emily) Andresen, Oxford Junction; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sylvia; three sisters and two brothers.

The Z.C.B.J. lodge conducted services at the cemetery.
