OLIN--Mrs. Mike Zaruba, 90, Olin, died Saturday April 16, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Coppess, near Wyoming.

Prayer service was held at the home of her daughter, Tuesday, April 19, at 1:30 p.m., followed by services at the Campbell Funeral home, Olin, at 2 p.m. Rev. Lloyd Dutro was in charge of the services. Interment was the cemetery at Wyoming.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Lee Zaruba, Mike Zaruba, Don Zaruba, Merle Zaruba, Ralph Coppess, jr., and Harold Wagamen.

She was born Elizabeth Kostachek, Sept. 28, 1869, daughter of Tom and Rose Kaska Kostachek, Trebarn, Czechoslovakia. Family came to America when she was about 12 years old and settled in the Wyoming, Iowa, vicinity, where she grew to womanhood.

Jan. 28, 1890, she was united in marriage to Mike Zaruba. They started farming in the Hale vicinity and had lived in that area throughout their entire married life. Eleven children were born to this union.

Survivors include four children, Mrs. Ralph Coppess, Wyoming; Frank Zaruba, Anamosa; Mrs. Grace Kelsey, Wassaic, N.Y.; and Harry Zaruba, Dubuque.

Other survivors include one sister, Mrs. Rosie Dusanek, Wyoming; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aug. 19, 1917; seven of her children, four brothers and her parents.
