14 April 1960 - The Anamosa Eureka

M. Herbert Weiss died on Monday, April 11, at his home in Anamosa, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational church, Anamosa. Rev. Robert Cleveland officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. McNamara Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Howard Hart, Howard Cook, Hector Bray, Edward Harms, John Albers and Henry Zimmerman.

Mrs. Marvin Fredericks was organist.

He was born July 31, 1886, son of Charles and Sarah Steckel Weiss, Sabula. He was a member of the First Congregational church, Anamosa. He was owner and operator of the Line Buster Bait Co., Anamosa.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Kay Weiss; a half-sister, Mrs. Harriet Belknap, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Allen, on April 22, 1959.
