SCOTCH GROVE -- Funeral services were held for John V. Wright, 65, Scotch Grove, on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 23, at 1:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Monticello.

Mr. Wright had suffered a stroke Sunday afternoon, Jan. 17, and had been taken to the hospital in Monticello, and from there to the Iowa City hospital on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, Jan. 21, he died in the Iowa City hospital.

He and Mrs. Wright have spent their married life in Scotch Grove where he was born. His life work was farming. He had also been employed at various times in the Scotch Grove nursery during the lifetime of F. A. Royden.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas Tagutchi, California; three sons, John Richard, Jim and Ronald at home and a daughter at home, Sharon Wright; one grandchild, Julie A. Tagutchi, and by a number of brothers and sisters.

Burial was made in Oakwood cemetery, near Monticello.
