Miss Hertha Levsen died Friday, October 21 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Methodist Church in Wyoming with Rev. Loren Simpson officiating. Burial was at Olin Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Jamison, Robert J. Rohwedder, Richard Rohwedder, James Barnett, Joe Levsen, and Calvin Reiss.

Hertha Levsen was born on a farm east of Olin on January 4, 1896. She was the youngest of 14 children born to August and Johanna Thomsen Levsen. She received her college education at Aberdeen Normal in South Dakota. She taught in schools in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Wyoming where she served as organist for a number of years.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Lena Moreland of Chamberlain, South Dakota; Mrs. Freda Wells, Sioux City; and Mrs. Emma Rohwedder of Wyoming, with whom she made her home and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.
