Funeral services for Wallace Kammer, 87, of Oxford Junction were held on Tuesday, July 5, at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church at Oxford Junction. Burial was at the Lost Nation cemetery.

Rev. Loren Simpson officiated at the services with Hayden Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Kammer died on July 1 at Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa. He was born on August 31, 1889 at Emsley, South Dakota to Hildebrand and Rosamond Gardner Kammer. On February 1, 1911, he married Marie Fleming at Davenport. They farmed in the Lost Nation and Oxford Junction area until retiring 20 years ago.

Mrs. Kammer preceded him in death in 1967.

Survivors are one son, Ben, of Fort Morgan, California; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Eva) Lucas of Maquoketa, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Jess Cox of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Bessie Correl of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother, one sister and two grandsons.

Pallbearers were Albert Mostaert, I. L. Simmonsen, Harold Fleming, Lee Fleming, Tom Benton and Dennis Von Sprecken.
