Lawrence H. Bruce, 65, Olin, died at the Anamosa Community hospital last Friday morning following a brief illness.

He was born at Conrad, July 21, 1911, the son of George and Anna Clark Bruce.

He served in the army during World War II from 1942-1945. On January 7, 1946, he was married to Gladys Pavin and the couple made their home in the Anamosa area until moving to Olin about ten years ago.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Gladys, and six children, Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Koohns of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Strumgen of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Robert (Alice) Wilhite of Ottawa, Kansas and Betty, Willis and Dale at home.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, three brothers, John and Clarence Bruce of Marion and Franklin Bruce of Central City, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Binley of Anamosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services were held at the Goettsh Funeral Home Monday at 11 a.m. with burial at Forest cemetery. The Rev. Brown Garlock officiated at the services.
