Elizabeth Jean Bronson, 65, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Wyoming, died September 7, 1976, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

She was born at Shellsburg on May 30, 1911, the daughter of Peter and Hazel White Maxwell.

After graduating from Newhall High School, she attended the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa.

On October 4, 1941, she married William Bronson at Cedar Rapids. The couple soon began operating an insurance business in Wyoming, where they stayed for 28 years. In 1970, they moved to Cedar Rapids.

She was a member of the Eu'cha-Rest Temple #68, (Daughters of the Nile) and a past member of the Wyoming American Legion Auxiliary and a past Worthy Matron of the Wyoming Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kay, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Steven (Margaret) Gray, Iowa City; one brother, Marcus Maxwell, Palmetto, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Earley, Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
