Funeral services were held for Fred S. Harms, 90, Oxford Junction, Tuesday August 3rd, at 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church. Burial was at the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction. The Rev. Loren Simpson officiated at the services. Masonic services were held Monday evening at Hayden's Funeral Home.

Mr. Harms died Sunday August 1st, at the Jackson County Public Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born May 6, 1886 in Oxford Junction to Samuel and Fredericka Greve Harms. On October 21, 1914, he married Bess Wosoba at Oxford Junction. They farmed near Scotch Grove for a short time. After moving back to Oxford Junction, he was employed as a rural mail carrier for 38 years, retiring in 1956. He was also a member of Zealous Lodge No. 435 A.F. and A.M.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Fred of Redwood, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Merle (Helen) Muhl of Lost Nation; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mable Carrington of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
