When he was fourteen Perry moved with his parents to Iron Hill. He has lived in Maquoketa the past forty years until last October, and has been making his home with his son, Albert and family at Center Junction lately. On April 7, 1867, he married Jane Willis who passed away May 1st, 1904. Four children were born to this couple and survive them, William T. and Harry of Maquoketa, Albert G. of Center Junction, and Alma, attending the Iowa Bible training school in Des Moines. Perry Isbell was an upright citizen, a cooper by trade. He was a great lover of music and is remembered by many friends for his execution on the violin. During the past years he has been a great sufferer with cancer of the jaw, but was most patient and grateful for every attention. The children were all present at the funeral, as was his niece, Mrs. Adell McKelvey Young of Center Junction, and Mr. and Mrs. George Isbell of Clinton, who all came also to attend the funeral of their maternal aunt, Mrs. Alfred Fellows.
