Arthur J. Joslin, 24, Anamosa, was killed in an accident at the Paralta quarry east of Marion June 21. He was the brother of Edward Joslin, Clarence.

The young Anamosa man had been married only a week. He was operating an earth-power truck at the edge of the quarry, when the machine slid off a pile of sand and overturned in the gravel pit, trapping him in the cab.

Rescue crews cut away a section of the cab to free him, but he was dead on arrival at St. Luke's hospital. He suffered severe head and other crushing injuries.

Services were held Saturday in the Goettsch funeral home, Anamosa. Burial was in Wilcox cemetery.

Born April 22, 1932, Arthur James Joslin attended Anamosa schools. He was discharged from the navy last November, but was a member of the reserves.

He was married to Betty Townsend June 15 at Anamosa.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Joslin of route 1, Anamosa; his wife; four brothers, Perry and Leonard of Anamosa; Edward of Clarence, and Jay, of Amber, and five sisters, Mrs. Norma Seeley, Anamosa; Mrs. Pauline Gray of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mrs. Lawrence Allamand of Anamosa; Mrs. Kenneth Wenger of Elkader, and Mrs. R.
