page 8Anamosa, Ia. Sept. 21-- Charles Preston died on Saturday morning, after a long illness of nearly a year. The funeral services were held in the M.E. church, Monday afternoon, Rev. L. C. Lemon officiating. Mr. Preston was born in Ohio, but came to Iowa at an early age, and resided with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Preston, on a farm in Cass township, where he also made his home after his marriage. A number of years ago he sold his farm and moved to Anamosa, where he worked at his trade of carpenter. He also lived in Missouri for a short time, but moved back to Iowa. Mr. Preston was about sixty-five years of age. He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter. Mr. Preston was one of a family of five brothers and one sister. The brothers are all living, but his sister, Mrs. George Watters, died some years ago.
