Alice A. Thomsen, 81, died Thursday, August 7th at the Maquoketa Care Center.
Alice was born west of Wyoming on February 3, 1894, the daughter of Lynus and Jennie Hamilton Ireland. She was educated in rural schools.
Alice married Meinhardt Thomsen on January 22, 1913 on a farm west of Wyoming. The couple farmed just west of Wyoming until retiring to town in 1949.
Alice was a member of the Wyoming Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, 2 sons, Melvin and John, both of Wyoming, 1 daughter, Alma (Mrs. Ervin Rohwedder), Olin, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 sister, Mrs. Viola DeMoss, Monticello.
Services were held Saturday, August 9th at 1:30 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wyoming. Rev. Ralph Colton and Rev. Charles Johnson officiated.
Pallbearers were: Mark Thomsen, Terry Thomsen, H. Clifford Hinkhouse, Richard Wickham, William Kelly and Harlan Jacabson.
Burial was at the Wyoming Cemetery.
