Norman D. Johnson, 71, passed away at his home in Center Junction on July 28th. He was born at Iron Hill on April 14th, 1904, the son of Carl and Angeline DeMoss Johnson. He was raised and attended rural schools near Emaline, and later attended the Monmouth School.

As a young man he worked on farms. He married Dorothy Saxon on February 10, 1928 in Wyoming, where the couple lived until 1934. They then moved to Center Junction where he hauled cream. He was also employed by Jones County for several years. Later he had a blacksmith shop in Center Junction.

His wife passed away in 1959. He was a member of the Center Junction Presbyterian church.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Roberta) Andrews, and Mrs. Louis (Vera Mae) Moran, both of Center Junction, two brothers, Carlyle, New London, and Myron, Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Rursch, Milan, Ill., and Mrs. Gladys Goody, Maquoketa, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one granddaughter. Services were held Thursday morning, July 31, 1975 at 10:30 A.M. at the Center Junction church.
