Jean Opal McDonald, 52, passed away Jan. 5, 1974 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born July 13, 1921 in Mechanicsville to Ralph and Grace Reasland Albaugh. She graduated from Mechanicsville High School and on June 3, 1944 was married to Scott McDonald in Iowa City. Mr. and Mrs. McDonald lived in the Coralville area for five years. Since then they have lived in the Wyoming and Center Junction areas and operated restaurants in these areas for over twenty years.

Survivors include her husband, Scott; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Albaugh of Mechanicsville; two brothers, Floyd of Mechanicsville and William of Hiawatha; a sister, Mrs. Leonard (Pearl) Martin of Beaumont, Texas; and a step-son, Donald McDonald of Maquoketa and his two children.

Services were Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Wyoming with burial at the Wyoming cemetery. Rev. Evelyn Durkee officiated. Mrs. Lafayette Bahnsen was organist. Pall bearers were Cliff Dirks, Don Bucholtz, Royal Snyder, Ralph Eggert, Dean James and John Brodersen.
