3 March 1916 - The Clinton Advertiser

Olin, Iowa, March 9 --Mrs. George Langschwager was born in Eichlenberg, Germany, Nov. 25, 1847 and died at his home in Olin at 3:00 Saturday afternoon, March 4, 1916, aged 68 years, 3 months and 8 days. She had been ill for several weeks and was tenderly cared for by her children, who had little hope for her recovery from the first. She was a member of the German Lutheran church from the time of the class organization and was a worthy and kindly friend and neighbor at all times. She leaves her husband, six children, Phillip Langschwager, Mrs. George Schallman and Lewis Langschwager of Olin, Mrs. Julius Jurgensen of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Ivan Miller of Anamosa, Miss Icy of Humboldt, Iowa, eleven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The funeral services were held from the St. John's Lutheran church at 1 o'clock Tuesday, March 7, conducted by Rev. Pesbel assisted in English by Rev. Julius Moehl of Preston. Interment was made in the city cemetery by the side of her little ones.

Relatives from a distance in attendance at the funeral were: Mrs. John Schrader of Chicago, a sister. Mrs. Fred Totdz Sr., and son Henry of Lyons, Iowa, Fred Totdz and wife of Missouri Valley, Iowa, John Todtz of Fulton, Ill.; Carl Lempke of Chicago, Julius Jurgensen and family of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Miller of Anamosa; Miss Iry Langschwager of Humboldt, Iowa.
